Pauls Valley Hosts Bark in the Park Oct. 20
October 20 @ 5:00 am - 9:00 am
Dog lovers are a unique … pack. They love getting with other dog lovers and letting their pooches play together.
That’s the spirit behind the third annual Phil Henderson Memorial Bark in the Park day, set for Saturday, Oct. 20, in Pauls Valley’s Wacker Park. The come-and-go event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is hosted in partnership with the Pauls Valley Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).
Dogs and their owners — and even those without pets — are invited to the event that will feature a costume contest, dog adoptions, pet photos, demonstrations, vendors and more. Admission is free.
“We welcome all dog owners and their pets to this event unique to south central Oklahoma,” said Dr. Carolyn Williams, event leader. “There’s nothing more enjoyable than dogs and their masters enjoying a day in the park together.”
Organizers are hoping that attendance again reaches 1,000 as attended last year. Funds generated this year will go toward PAWS’ participation in the Peaceful Animal Adoption Shelter, which relocates unadopted pets to other locations in the nation needing more adoption options.
