Note: If you’re a true hip-hop fan, then it would behoove you to become an owner of Run The Jewels’s latest body of work. The unconventional hip-hop duo consists of Atlanta rapper Killer Mike and New York producer El-P. Both of them have an eccentric and gritty style, and together they have produced two albums, Run the Jewels and their latest album Run the Jewels 2. Both albums received critical acclaim, with rave reviews from tastemaking publications like Pitchfork, Consequence of Sound and Rolling Stone. If you’re a hip-hop head, you probably recognize the names Killer Mike and El-P from Outkast songs, but if you’re not, here’s some brief history: Killer Mike was formerly signed to the infamous hip hop duo Outkast imprint, Purple Ribbon Records, where he was a frequent collaborator with Big Boi and Andre 3000. On Oct. 7, Cain’s Ballroom hosts the duo. Ticket are $20 and can be purchased on the Cain’s Ballroom website at
