Julie Hadden, one of the most successful and memorable contestants on NBC's "The Biggest Loser," will bring her classic humor and inspiring story to Women of Character, the speaker series introduced by Girl Scouts.
Hadden struggled with her self-worth and her size for years and found herself at a crossroads: would she settle for staying 'big,' or would she insist on making big changes instead? From displeasure to contentment, from indulgence to self-control, from shame to self-confidence, the transformation went far deeper than physique and reshaped her life: body, mind, and spirit.
With the goal of bringing nationally recognized women leaders and role models to educate and inspire people of all ages to reach their full potential, Girl Scouts will utilize the series to raise funds and reinforce its mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
The health expo beginning at 6:00 p.m. will introduce the new Live Healthy, Lead Healthy program by Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma and feature local health-focused businesses and organizations. Hadden's book, Fat Chance: Losing the Weight, Gaining My Worth, will be available for purchase on site with opportunities to have copies signed.
Tickets are $25 for general admission and are available in advance at www.myticketoffice.com or at the door. Health-focused businesses and organizations are also invited to participate in the Live Healthy, Lead Healthy expo.
