The Canterbury Choral Society presents this special work from composer Leonard Bernstein (West Side Story) in an Oklahoma premiere, theatrically-staged in partnership with Oklahoma City University School of Music. The work, commissioned by Jacqueline Kennedy after the death of Pres. John F. Kennedy, is theatrically-staged and told through a combination of jazz and rock styles. The cast includes the Mass Celebrant, Acolytes Chorus, Children’s Chorus and Street Singers with onstage and offstage orchestra. Performance will be at Oklahoma City Civic Center Music Hall. |
