Dec. 3 at Civic Center Music Hall

From canterburyokc.com: Canterbury Voices takes you to a place where few choral groups can go!

The current Messiah trend is to go purist, using Handel’s modest original Baroque orchestrations. At the opposite end of the spectrum lies an arrangement written in 1957 that is so grandiose, the stage is full of musicians and the impact is unforgettable. Canterbury will feature the famed arrangement by Goosens with instruments only seen in large, Romantic orchestras—two harps, four horns, and a full wind section. The text in this version is amplified by the full orchestra, whether it’s the gentle melody of the opening words “Comfort ye”, or the sheer invigorating “Hallelujah” chorus, this concert will be inspiring! Members of the OKC Philharmonic will join us for this concert.

Come celebrate this Christmas with one of the world’s most beloved musical works!
