Powwow season doesn’t really get underway until summer, but that isn’t stopping the dancers signed up for the Restoring Harmony Powwow, an event supporting Indian Health Care Resource Center of Tulsa and focused on wellness. Set for Saturday, May 3, the day begins at the Westside YMCA, 5400 S. Olympia Ave., Tulsa, with stickball games at 10 a.m. followed by hiking and late afternoon gourd dancing. Grand entry for the outdoor powwow will start at 7 p.m. led by head dancers and drum groups. Competitions in a variety of men’s and women’s dance styles as well as all age brackets will follow. There will also be a host of arts, crafts and food vendors. Admission is free. For more, visit
