It began with rockabilly, and before long Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys were reviving a wider sampling of sounds that made rock and roll epic. The California band just had its 25th anniversary and released an album, What a Dream It’s Been, to celebrate. Branching out into other musical styles – including honky-tonk, rhythm & blues, doo-wop, country boogie and Western swing – Big Sandy and the boys are in fine form for the band’s next show at The Blue Door, 2805 N. McKinley Ave., Oklahoma City. Show is at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 26. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. For more or to purchase tickets, visit www.bluedoorokc.com.
