Opens Friday, March 14

Two exhibits open at the Hardesty Arts Center this weekend, and both as unique in their materials as subject matter. Liz Roth was appointed a spot in the prestigious Artist-in-Residence Program at Grand Canyon National Park in 2011. She returned to Tulsa with a visual experience manifest in a series of works unique in its colors and textures from what we expect of the Grand Canyon. Chasm opens Friday, March 14, with a reception from 6-9 p.m. The opening coincides with Art in Mosaic, an exhibition of contemporary mosaic works by Oklahoma artists Jacqueline Iskander and Brooks Tower, each working in different materials and techniques. Both exhibits run through May 4 at the Hardesty center, 101 E. Archer St., Tulsa. Admission is free, and more information is available at www.ahct.org.
